Justin Poindexter, guitar/vocals, Kyle Sauliner, upright bass.

Washington Post: “Uncommonly attractive and entertaining...managing a comfortable balance of the formal and the casual.” George Gershwin, Burt Bacharach, Irving Berlin, Earl Wild.

Sasha Papernik, Russian-American pianist, singer, and composer, draws on her dual heritage and wide range of talents to present an entertaining program spanning the American Songbook and Classical genres of the early 20th century. Join her trio as they offer classical selections, songs by the American Songbook master Irving Berlin and George Gershwin, reimagined Russian folk tunes, and inspired originals while telling lively stories about the music, composers, and the times they lived in. Ms. Papernik presented her Russian-American interactive concert, “I Speak Music,” with her New York based ensemble at Lincoln Center’s Meet the Artist, Lincoln Center Local, and Carnegie Hall’s popular Musical Explorers series. Her 2013 self-released bilingual pop album, Victory, has been hailed by reviewers as "an eye opener," (Wildy's World) and "unparalleled in its aesthetics and musical elegance," (Indiemunity)
